2 Secure it
When you're happy with the car you've found, a £99 Handling Fee - refundable without quibble if you decide at any point not to purchase - secures it for you and removes it immediately from sale. You'll receive a personal login so you can track each step of the buying process and arrange collection or delivery.
You'll also have a friendly customer agent assigned to answer any questions you may have.
3 Check it
To ensure peace of mind for our customers, each car is given a vigorous 167-point independent and superior inspection by the RAC, together with a full HPI history Check to certify history and mileage. You'll be able to review your HPI and RAC reports - if not already available - from your personal account.
You'll be able to view the full image gallery so you can see your car from every angle and the RAC also perform a video test drive for you to watch.
We can't all be mechanics, so it's good to have the RAC to be your expert eyes and ears.
4 Drive it
We'll deliver your new car straight to your front door. Or if you'd rather collect, you can visit us at one of our dedicated handover centres, open 7 days a week.
Once you've taken ownership of the vehicle there's a 7 day return policy, if you're unhappy for any reason*
As an added reward, Tesco Clubcard members will receive 2000 Clubcard points when they buy a car.
Pre-order / Buy it now
Pre-order cars
"Pre-order" cars are just about to be returned to our suppliers by the current owner. Tesco Cars gives you the unique opportunity to reserve your chosen car, typically a month before they're available on the market.
A fully refundable £99 Handling Fee reserves the vehicle and, when it is delivered to us, the RAC inspection and HPI history Check are carried out. You'll be able to access the reports, photos and video test drive in your personal Tesco Cars account. When you're happy, the vehicle is either delivered to your door, or you can collect in person from our handover centres.
Buy it now cars
"Buy It Now" cars are in stock and complete with the RAC and HPI reports, video test drive, photo gallery and description for you to view. With 'Buy It Now' cars, you will be able to arrange a handover date immediately and get behind the wheel in as little as one working day.
After sales
Don't worry - you're not on your own once you've purchased your vehicle!
We want you to be happy with your purchase, enjoy your new car, and feel that you have someone to contact at Tesco should the need arise. You can contact our Customer Service agents 7 days a week on the phone if you have any queries or outstanding questions about your new car.
We have also partnered with the National Service Network garage group (part of the Innovation Group PLC), who will operate as Tesco Autocentres. They can offer MOT, Servicing, and other vehicle repairs at up to 30% less than main dealer garages. More importantly, all their garages are checked thoroughly for their quality and customer service, and you can be assured of a fair market competitive price (and Clubcard points!) for all work carried out.
Tesco Autocentres will also collect and return your car to your home or place of work, (complete with a clean), and repaired as per the quote they provided to you at the outset.
